Imperial Treasure Noodle & Congee House

IMPERIAL TREASURE NOODLE AND CONGEE HOUSE
@ B3-17 ION Orchard

A shot of Singapore Post Building while waiting at the bus stop.

DK is a dear sister that we got to know at the church my wife and I (Now the whole household) attends. The bonding betwen us and this sister grew stronger over the years and it was truly sad to see her going to the States (She studies there). She would come back once in a while and stayed for a week or two and this time round a month+. So they say that happy times pass by in a flick of an eye, its about time she will have to return to the US so we decided to bring her out for dinner. We asked her to pick the place and she has chosen Imperial Treasure Noodle & Congee House at the newly opened ION Orchard. This place is the "Thing"of Ochard as it is a huge shopping mall (CK Tangs..ahem... step aside please~).

Dumpling soup (3/5).
Fresh prawn & wood ear filling.
I tasted MSG in the broth, apart from that... still a good dish.

Five spice pork (3/5).
Crispy and spicy on the crust. Meat not so well marinaded.

Ma La Ramen (3/5).Noodle springiness is average.
Soup is spicy but not too spicy, in a good way.

Fried rice with Salted fish (3.5/5)Taste wise, this fried rice is pretty good. The only thing that is not as good is the lack of "wok hei".

The restaurant is a Hong Kong styled restaurant and the food is pretty good. The price charged is reasonable with exception of the Stir-Fried Beef Hor Fun, which costs us S$16 per plate. I personally find it average. We ordered dumpling soup, wanton soup, salted fish fried rice, stir-fried beef hor fun, Ma La Ramen, Century egg + lean pork congee, and 5-spice pork ribs. The total bill added up to S$93.30 for 5, very reasonable for a place like that in a prime location. Having dinner with people that you loved and cared is definitely one of the top LTs (Little Things) that we must not overlooked. As the song goes "So tell that someone that you love/ Just what you're thinking of/ If tomorrow never comes".

See you next year DK!
