Crystal Jade LMXLB

Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao @ Holland Village

I have heard of this place from my colleague TLM and according to him they have a promotion (I believe it is an ongoing thing) for their steamboat buffet at S$19.80++ which also included free-flow of xiao long bao (XLB)! So if you are a sucker for these soup dumplings, this is the place for you. The branch in Jurong IMM has similar promotion with the exception of Pekingese Duck instead of the XLB and heard the price is cheaper too! Drinks are free-flow too. The free-flow beverage options are home-cooked barley, chinese tea and some other gassy drinks.

We ordered the Pork Bone+Corn
& Ma La (Szechuan hot soup) soup base

Anyway, since my sister-in-law is in Singapore for a one-week holiday, we decided to bring her to this restaurant and pack up a few pounds! Packed up we did! By the time we're almost done, most of us were already sporting that 3-month pregnant look including yours truly (Not that I could)! Of course, every restaurant would have this rule that if any food are wasted, a charge of S$5/100gm will be levied. Being such glutton for ordering so much, our over confidence almost cost us big... anyway, we managed to finish up most of the food and still have some desserts. The desserts are included in the steamboat buffet package so no extra cost here. We ordered the Gui Hua Gao (Osmanthus jelly), red bean jelly and the beancurd. The desserts are retty good particularly the beancurd. It tasted really smooth to the tongue and has a light almond taste to it. My wife really enjoyed it and sorry, no photos as I'm too full to still have the desire to take any photos.

You will have to make your own dipping sauce.

Only one plate of prawn is included in our 6 pax package.
Really good stuff as they are fresh and 'Q'.

If you are planning to go to this restaurant, you may make a reservation by calling them at +65 6463 0968. The place is usually packed and to avoid having to queue up outside the restaurant, give them a call ;-). The restaurant is just beside the main road so you should not have great difficulties trying to locate it.

Oh, did I mentioned that we whacked 7 basket of XLB?? That's altogether 7 x 5 = 35 XLBs! They're delicious!!! :p
