For those of you contemplating whether to visit the Singapore Zoo when you are on a holiday trip to Singapore, the answer is a resounding YES! Singapore is pretty small with not many things to fill up your itinerary. The usual top 5 MUST-SEE places in Singapore are as follow:

1) Esplanade (Dubbed the Singapore durian) + One Fullerton
2) Clarke Quay 
3) Sentosa + Resort World (Universal Studio)
4) Orchard Road
5) Marina Bay Sands and Waterfront

If one were to strictly follow the usual itinerary by filling up on the 5 places mentioned above, Singapore has nothing much to offer and you would be done with the city state in a 3D2N stay here. Hence I strongly recommends the Singapore Zoo (Including the River Safari and Night Safari) which is well known as the best Zoo in ASEAN and perhaps would even win a place (If not already) in the best zoo in the world. With the recent River Safari being opened to the public with 2 giant pandas loaned to Singapore by China as the main attraction and the much beloved Inuka (Read Ee-noo-ka) (Inuka has since passed on due to old age since the writing of this post) who was born in Singapore being relocated to a new climatized facility, the Singapore Zoo has became a MUST SEE if you are visiting the country.

Gem Island for 3 Days 2 Nights

I am back again to Gem Island or Gemia Island, which is situated in the East Coast of Peninsular Malaysia’s Dungun town in the state of Terengganu and if you have read my posting on my first visit to this island in September 2009, you will have most of the details to this island.

The difference between my first trip to this island and the current one is that this time round, we will be heading there on the Malaysian school holiday period, which means crowd. The reason I am heading back to this place is due to 2 reasons. Firstly, to organize a long overdue island trip for my church pastor in Singapore, which eventually became an 18 people group. Secondly, due to the heavy traffic during this school holiday period, all other resorts in other islands are either fully booked or does not have the capacity to house 18 of us. Initially, I was planning to head to Lang Tengah Island where I got married in but as mentioned, due to heavy traffic we have to consider other options. Don’t get me wrong by having the impression that just because we could get an 18 pax group in Gem Island while the others are fully booked means that Gem Island is a crappy place/resort and is not a destination of choice. While your impression might be true in some situations, Gem Island fortunately lives up to its name… Gem and gems are by no means cheap and crappy.

Paris in 6 Days (Day 3)

The Louvre museum is the largest museum in the world followed by the British Museum and The Vatican Museum! The total area of this museum records approximately 1000 square meter. It is totally impossible to truly appreciate all the items housed in this museum in one single day. Our own experience taught us that even to do a quick touch-and-go on all items, it is impossible to see all the collections here (That is if your leg and neck doesn’t kill you first… keeping high motivation for the whole day towards arts and sculptures and artifacts will definitely finish you off). Anyway, to start it off, we didn’t really spend the whole day in the Louvre per see as we woke up a little late thanks to the comfy bed and strolled to the Louvre instead of taking the metro.

Kuching: Borneo in 3 Days (Day1 and 2)

Day 1 and 2

Ahh Kuching, the feline city of East Malaysia... I guess that is how they got the name Felicity. The first time I've been to this place was a couple of years back for a short trip with my wife. The initial impression of Kuching is very much biased, no thanks to the media, that it is "Ulu" (Guess what? The word Ulu is really the name of one of the many native tribes in Sarawak and they lived very very deep in the forest) but I guess the media owes me and especially the Felinese an apology for portraying or seemed to suggest that they still lives up on the trees. Kuching is the capital of Sarawak, which in turn is one of the States in Malaysia. The predominant population in this area is made up of the many native tribes, malay, chinese, indian (I don't see many though) and other minorities and please note that the population demographic scale does not come in that order.
