Project WWWT Day 14 of 72 - London, United Kingdom

1st June 2017

I woke up early this morning and as my normal practice, slide open the window to check the weather outside. The past few days has been cloudy in the morning and slightly more sunny in the late afternoon, but not today. The sky was in its majestic cloak of azure blue that I wasted no time in washing up and changing into the next best thing I can grab from my pile of worn attires, took my camera and head out of the hotel towards the Westminster Bridge for a field day.

We also visited the British Museum later part of the day. I believe we reached the museum around 230PM. The British museum is free to access unless you are interested to view the temporary exhibits as well which costs a fee to visit. The temporary exhibits at the time of our visit was the Japanese Hokusai paintings and the American Culture, Family with stroller gets to enter via a dedicated queue which is shorter. There are plenty to see in the museum but the jewel of the crown is the Egyptian collection which includes the Parthenon scultures (The Elgin Marbles i.e. the sculptures supposedly on the top of the Parthenon in Athens), The mummy of Katebet, The Rosetta Stone etc.

Eden was asleep most of the time and Naaman was spooked throughout the visit. Its hard not to believe in the spiritual realms especially when children who were never taught of being afraid of anything suddenly became afraid of the exhibits in the museum, more so the mummies (Naaman closed his eyes while we strolled him out of the mummy exhibits and Eden kept pulling my hand and asked me to go to other places) and the old weaponries which may have drawn much blood. We didn't linger in the Egyptian mummy room for long and neither did we visited the Egyptian Room. The most we did was to visit the Aztec room which Naaman has protested much and stayed outside the door while we looked at the Aztec exhibits, which includes the Turquois Serpent.  ADVICE: Unless your child/children is interested in Egyptian history and ancient artifacts, I'd say you'll be better off visiting the National Galleries or The Natural History Museum.

He refused to enter the Egyptian Room despite my employing all the methods that worked. Little child are truly sensitive when it comes to the Spiritual real.

You can get started on the British Museum by watching the movie Night At The Museum: Secret of the Tomb by Ben Stiller.
