Project WWWT Day 10 of 72 - England United Kingdom

28th May 2017

It's time to bid Disneyland goodbye and we need to take a train from Gare Du Nord to London St. Pacras International station. In order to reach Gare Du Nord, we need to take a RER A from Marne La Vallee Chessy station to Chatelet station and from there, cross over to the opposite station within the same platform and take RER B to Gare Du Nord. The trip took around 35-40 minutes and costs €9 per adult. We took Eurostar and children below 4 years old is FOC.

As stated in my Misadventure Journal, please reached the station at least 60 minutes before departure. You will need to check-in at least 30 minuets for the train and you need to clear 2 immigration checkpoints before you could board the train, hence the 60 minutes earlier suggestion.

We took an UBER XL from St. Pacras to our hotel at Marriott County Hall Hotel London and it cost us £16, thanks UBER! This property is situated right beside London Eye opposite the Big Ben so it is wonderful to explore this part of London and the Westminster Cruise pier is just minutes away. For Marriott Vacation Club owners, this is a category 9 hotel so will set you back around 180,000 for 5 nights. Hopefully it will remain at this although I am sure this points requirement will only continue to move up (Update: 280,000 points for 5 nights as of Sep 2021). London and Paris is like the last bastion for value redemption.

The property is beautiful. It really is smacked right beside the London eye, so you can just pop over and have a ride. There is a McDonalds nearby if that is your thing, otherwise you can always walk a little and find your japanese fix at Aji Zen or steak at the in house Gillray's Steakhouse. As per the name suggests, it was the County Hall for London County and later Great Britain County. For more information, you may like to read it from Wikipedia.
